04 June, 2009 gallery additions It's been a little while since the last update! Things have been busy  I've been working on some projects for people and trying to get the hort.net database restructured to reflect changes that some of you have requested.The most difficult changes involve the naming of plants and allowing people to upload their own photos. I need a database that recognizes synonyms for different species and cultivars, but my original database didn't handle that very well. Progresss is being made!This week's additions include old photos that have been waiting in the queue as well as some new photos from my yard.I've also noticed that some of the photos have artifacts appearing in post-processing, so I will rewrite the sharpening code to be less aggressive and will recreate all gallery images at a future date.Christopher Lindsey, gallery maintainerThis newsletter is also available at http://www.hort.net/gallery/date/2009-06-04/#ml |
