19 March, 2012 gallery additions

Bah, so much for my plans to send this out over the weekend. The weather was so nice, and I was weak! The garage is cleaner, the yard is neater, and I made some subtle changes to the gallery that I'll explain later, though.

I dug back even further into old photos and found some that I had totally forgotten about, so those are going to start appearing in the gallery now. With the crazy warm weather that we're having, I'm sure I'm going to have new material to add soon too!

Back to the changes in the gallery... The first one needs to be reworked a little, but I've added thumbnails to the Web version of this newsletter, available here:

    http://www.hort.net/gallery/date/2012-03-19/#ml

If you click on that link you'll get to see previews for all of the photographs, and although I thought they looked good on last week's additions I think this week's are a little jumbled looking.

The other minor change is at the root page for the gallery, at

    http://www.hort.net/gallery/

It now displays twenty random thumbnails from the gallery. Load up the page, click on one you like, go back, click another, and when you're ready for another batch just reload the page. It's a little easier than browsing through all of the plants by name if you're only looking for some eye candy.

We have a 91-degree day in our forecast this week, so although I was saying 'keep warm' just a few weeks ago, I guess I need to say 'keep comfortable' instead. The West Coast seems to have gotten our Illinois weather!
