Old ones like mine are pier and beam. Some of the piers are actually
large tree stumps w/ roots firmly rooted in the ground after well over a
century no less. Quite amazing really. The windows are that old thick
slightly greenish tinted float glass. Town founded in 1851 and mine is
one of the 12 original lots. Any house intact that long in tornado alley
has good karma IMO.
