I usually try to take 2 at a time to my vet who is a 1/2 hour drive away. 
The heaviest 2 would be Seamus at 18 and Jack at 15.  33 pounds of cat in
one big carrier.  Man, that can get heavy.  And of course, Jack always
drools all over his cellmate when they're in there.  Mick is 13 pounds and
Braveheart, 12.
