Re: Cats

Oh, that's true...most of the flea shampoo bottles now will say "not for kittens under ___ weeks old". But my vet told me to never, ever use Hartz shampoo on any animal...period. I ran out of my tick/flea shampoo 3 years ago...the blue bottle(Adam's I think) and ran to the grocery store to get some...and just picked up the first bottle I saw. I bathed my Blue Heeler in it...she was sick for days...I finally took her to the vet and she asked me if I had used Hartz shampoo on her...I called the house and asked them to look...yep, sure enough. She (my vet) said she would like to sue them for that product because it has even killed some animals...it's very, very toxic. I felt so bad for my dog.

When I was younger I made the mistake of bathing a flea-infested kitten with
a flea shampoo. Made him very sick. As I recall, the vet said when they're
that young the strong ingredients in such a shampoo can travel right through
the skin and into the stomach.
