Re: Doctor visit

I finally went to a chiropractor because I awoke with horrendous pain Sunday
night.
She did a little adjusting, mentioning that shoulders aren't her favorite -
take more time and work to untighten - and that my shoulder and arm had some
very tight areas. Said the trouble is and will always be the protruding
discs in my neck that cause the shoulder problem that makes the muscles
tighten in my upper arm. She did make it feel better; I felt/heard a couple
of crunches. She didn't want to do too much the first time as I'd never
been "adjusted" before. Said to call when I felt I needed more.
Meanwhile, she explained that the pain occurs when I'm asleep because
muscles tighten when you sleep. (I'd've thought they'd relax then.) She
said, when you want to untighten, you stretch; when you sleep you might toss
and turn but mainly you're stationary. So, I am supposed to stretch before
I go to sleep and maybe eventually I will finally sleep through the night,
first time in 4 months. This was way better than going to a MD.
