Re: African Iris bloom!

Here's a photo of a Dietes that I took at Naples Botanical Garden. I don't know the species.

I dug up and divided the one I sent seeds from--it's growing in several pots and has not bloomed since that trauma. I keep promising to get them back in the ground, but haven't yet.

I posted a few more pics of the full plant and a couple of the not so great close-ups I took yesterday. The plant doesn't have any new flowers today, but when it does I'll try again for a better close-up.

You sure that's the one I sent? If so it's a Dietes--either D. iridioides or D. vegeta. Probably the former; I've never seen one properly labeled that I recall.

African Iris bloom!
Hi all- the seeds that Island Jim sent me some time ago have grown very
nicely. Now I have a lovely new flower in my garden! Jim, do you know
the botanical name for this lovely plant? Thank you!
I was surprised too. The plant habit doesn't look like the one
I have (which IJ sent me), and the flowers don't resemble the
photos of Dietes I have. Theresa, could you post a shot of the
full plant ?
