Re: YO! Mac users

I think it gives them the illusion of power. "I may be nobody, but I can bring major players DOWN because I'm smarter." That sort of thinking. Not my cup of cocoa, but some folks can't feel big with out being better than someone.

I think they like to do it to prove they can. Perhaps they look at it as a
major practical joke. Perhaps it's like kids used to do on telephones only
on steroids: "Sir, this is the Anywhere Power and Light Company. Could you
please tell me if your street light is on? O.K., then. Would you please
turn it off before you go to bed tonight?"

The more comprehensive the technology the more damage it can do. Some
folks just never grow up and their "jokes" can be quite costly. I
personally never understood the mentality, but I have observed it in others.

Any ideas from anyone else why folks play these demented games with our PC's
and the web?

Blessings,

Even if they don't want to help people, creating worms and viruses doesn't
even help themselves. What IS the point?

Wow...I was thinking of getting my twin daughters Mac laptops for
graduation presents this year (that's what they asked for...not a
Mac...but a laptop to take to college) and I thought about Mac because
of the lesser chance of virus problems...but apparently it doesn't
really matter!!!! I do not understand the purpose of hackers...and why
they do that. They need to get a life doing something that will HELP
people if they are that smart.
