Re: OT/son coming home from Iraq

Thanks to all of you. This is very hard on us, but especially so on his mom. She is so stressed out, she now has various kinds of rashes all over her body, getting worse all the time. Psoriasis developed in the past year too in the worst places and she's a wreck. We know he's coming home in less than 2 months, but we also know what a difference a day can make over there.

I will refrain from getting hyper-political here, but..I wouldn't dream of even trying to tell anyone how they should vote next month, but please think about what is going on and use your vote to work toward something positive. Please.

I saw that on the news this a.m. I'm amazed nobody was killed, and I'm doubly glad that Sam is okay.

We just got an email from Sam earlier today. His camp was attacked http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15212323/
The video explains more. They've been evacuated, but not sure where.

Kitty, I am so sorry to hear about Sam's friend. That is just
heartbreaking. So far Neal has not lost any friends...he almost lost
one...but he pulled through and is stateside right now. My son has had
several IEDs hit the trucks in his platoon, but no casualties that he
has mentioned so far. Neal said the insurgents were getting worse too.
Very brazen and non-stop. I'm so glad he's coming home for awhile. He
has two years left to serve, so I'm sure he'll end up back over there
before it's all over. I hate that.

Zem, thanks for the e-mail about Brandi. She is doing better this
weekend. She said the hardest part was getting the sound of the puppy
screaming out of her head. She would wake up in a cold sweat and start
crying all over again. And then I would start crying when she talked
about it. It's hard to shut it out. Time heals, but sometimes not soon
enough.

Cathy, I'm so sorry about Jason. I know it takes time...and I feel this
way over my pets. I can't even imagine what it would be like to lose one
of my children. The families that lose loved ones in this stupid war
grieve so much. I grieve for them.

I've got to get outside and weed my gardens and get them ready for the
winter...I just haven't been real motivated that last year or two. My
gardens look pretty sad. I wish I could find somebody, like a high
school kid, who wanted to do some work like that for pay. But then I
worry about them pulling stuff that isn't a weed! Oh well....I'll do
what I can do, and if it doesn't all get done...well, so be it.
