hi gang,

while at my wholesale grower's supply this week i found this item:


the claim to fame is such:

volebloc is a non toxic soil additive made from coarse particles of PermaTill
expanded natural slate.  apply vole bloc as a physical barrier in the soil
surrounding the root system, and as a mulch on the surface around the stem.  
when applied as a barrier in the soil, the volebloc barrier has been known to
discourage underground voles from feeding on the roots of certain landscape
