Narda, I have a cousin (1st cousin once removed, but so close that he's like a
nephew) who has become quite the stickler on details.  He has developed a web
site that gets around 3,000 page loads a day (http://gamecode.samsworld.com).
He spent quite a bit of the past year trying to fix our brains so that we
wouldn't be lead astray.  Yes, it's true that the year has to pass before you
count it as in the past, but as you say, "after 2,000 or so years, what's a year
or two among friends"?
