A very important question, Ken! One could clip 3-4 leaves off his plant
and rush to the other's house and compare his leaves with those of the
other's plant. (assuming counting veins and blossom comparison showed no
difference)

Many gardeners may be surprised to compare leaves of two plants in two
different parts of their own yard; that's how I was able to convince
myself that H. 'Ellerbroek,' H. 'Golden Crown,' and H. fortunei
'Aureomarginata' were the same plant.
