Can I put a foot in both camps?
Let's leave the registration process as it is AND
start an award category  of Hosta (Must HAVE-Hosta Award of Very Distinct)
very similar to the RHS AGM system (Award of Garden Merit) where trials of a
Genus produce the winners. Of course the State's geography doesn't help this
type of exercise and maybe the Hosta Library's "comments section" is a
better starting point for unsure hosta purchasers.
