just back from a swim. Today is a holiday here, called OXI Day (NO Day, when
the Greeks said NO to the Germans in WWII)
Glad we were both thinking about the same kind of house. I find it a sound
As I told John this morning, the brothers who are selling have not been able
to agree on how exactly to subdivide the 1000 meter plots. My business
partner Kostas has been in contact with them. So we have to wait a couple of
days for this.
Have a nice weekend,

Thank you for sending all these details.
We just wanted to be sure that we were all taking about the same type
house & same sort of price.
All I think we need now is the actual dimensions of the plot i.e 30
metres wide by 40 metres long.

Hello Jan and Les,
I just got an email from John saying you want to get some more
information regarding the house(s) we offered. If you remember I sent
this offer to you on Oct 15: <<The plot plus an 80-sqm 2-bedroom house
is 153 300 euros
The plot plus a 70 sqm 2-bedroom house is 140 700 euros
The plot plus a two-storey 80-sqm house is 166 000 euros>>
Now, the design of the house is a little bit up to you. Since you
indicated you would probably go for the 80 sqm 2-storey house, my offer
is based on one of the houses that you saw with two storeys, large
kitchen/combined dining room and shower upstairs (and an open fire place
in one corner), two bedrooms and a larger bathroom downstairs, storage
under the stairs. Do you remember this one? It was in Agia Triada. I
enclose two drawings from the building license.
Of course, if you would chose a one-storey house one could have three
bedrooms on 80 sqm.
You will find all the things that are included in the house in the
document that I sent you yesterday.
As I am sure John have told you there will be legal fees (notary,
archive) and a purchase tax for the land, but nothing extra for the
house of course. The extras for the land will is normally 10-12 %. When
you sell you don't pay taxes, as in England. The price for the house is
our price 2005.
What I need to check is electricity. We normally include this, but if
the electricity is very far, they will charge us per meter and then we
have to charge you extra for this. There is a house rather close so I
don't think this is a problem. Before we sign anything we will have
found out for sure.
Please tell me if there are other things that you wonder about, and I'll
get back to you.
PS We can build a pool, but it is not included in the price. We have not
built a plunge pool and there is none in the area som we need to find
out the price for it
