Heavily ruffled, even the flounces.  not the greatest angle on this picture, but the idea is there.
about 50% of the stalks this year were short a bud, last year they were fine.   6 to 7 buds this year

That is simply the best ot the best. Considering the twinge I got looking at all those ruffles, will it come with seasick pills?
