Happy New Year

God was kind this immediate last year,
He gave me flowers I mistreated and still they did live.
Best of all he gave me my friends.
Friends I could on occasion patently offend.
Friends who's smiles, at ignorance sometimes turned grin.
Friends capable of discourse knowing that in unresolved end,
Intelligent discourse did not require that someone must win.
Respect was the thing shared valued the most.
What else could I expect in a discipline directed by heavenly Host?
He gave me most when he gave me friends,
Friends mirroring in small degrees aspects of Him.

Happy New Year! I look forward to intelligent discourse, smilin', grinnin',
and offendin' yawl often...... always with respect.
