RE: HYB: winter seedlings

  • Subject: RE: HYB: winter seedlings

The sun porch is not heated, but is on the west side of the house, so
does get full sun occasionally. I've been leaving a window open most of
the time to make sure it doesn't get too warm and to allow a little
extra chilling at night for the seeds that haven't come up yet.

Highs on a warm sunny day (not many of those lately) have been in the
mid 60sF. Most days between 50 and 60. Nighttime lows around 40 most
of the time. Lights are half grow bulbs, half full spectrum (white).
Not enough bulbs for all the pots, but there are 6 shoplights out there
now, mirrors leaned up against the wall facing the sun, so even the pots
sitting on the floor are getting enough light to be growing fairly well
without getting too top heavy.

How have your planted in the ground seeds done? Has it warmed up enough
for you to tell if they are ok?

<Those seedlings are really growing well, Linda. You must have them in
a fairly warm place under grow lights.
