TB: HIST: pink amoena pigment distribution? Shannopin closeup

  • Subject: [PHOTO] [iris-photos] TB: HIST: pink amoena pigment distribution? Shannopin closeup

Closeup of SHANNOPIN that shows the distinct layering of dark (umbrata?)
color on the surface of the falls (note backside of fall to the left) as
well as on the rim of falls (note bud at bottom left).

I guess this answers my question about whether fall color in pink &
orange amoenas is a surface color or all the way through, at least in
this cultivar.

I wonder if there is a "PROGENITOR" type equivalent for pinks & yellows,
where the pigment is on both sides of the fall, or in all layers.
