Peacock's Eye - Real Name?

  • Subject: [iris-photos] Peacock's Eye - Real Name?

Does anyone know the correct name of Peacock's Eye?  It is French and, I believe, starts with Pf.  I entered it in our show several years ago and the judges were considering it for a Section award.  There was a debate whether to disqualify it because the name was not correct.  They eventually decided to give the award because the name was the "common" name for the iris.
I haven't been able to find the correct name because the year, I believe 1806, is not in my R&Is.  I cannot find it on the H.I.P.S. site either.
As long as someone was asking for a picture of the iris, I thought maybe we could discover the correct name as well.
Thanks to all,
Jan in Chatsworth
