I wasn't judging the trait, though. Some ABs are also short and it is indeed nice to see everything by looking down. At the same time, it's not always desirable. The post was intended as a general question concerning iris of any kind and what folks have observed. I forgot to mention branching which seems to follow the pod parent in how it gets expressed in the progeny. I think it's the only trait that has been consistant in tilting toward the maternal side. Mary Lou seems to be observing strong growth among seedlings corresponding to strong growth in the parents, but nothing I've produced will correlate at all on the growth of the seedlings compared to the parents. I wish it were that simple. I could not make a lot of crosses :).
