These are the carotenoid granules (lycopene) in the edge of the falls of Magical Encounter.  5/10/05
Preparation, light scraping of surface with razor blade to remove top of conical cells, drop of tap water, cover slip firmly press to flatten specimen.  Blacken areas are artifacts caused by air.
