Thanks to those for trying to ID this iris, 

BLUE EYED BLOND has blue tipped violet beards , my unknown has violet
tipped orange beards.  Thanks to all for the suggestions.  

One thing for sure is that it is too good to be somebody's unwanted
seedling .  It is extremely vigorous .

BTW , check out the parentage of BEB , a whole lot of work and what must
be many years went into this cultivar .
