The AIS registration system is excellent, and invaluable to hybridizers.

But, one could disagree.  Intellectual property rights get created in many 
ways, and the market often has a method of regulating chaos.  For instance, 
book titles and music songs sometimes have overlapping names, but generally 
one can sort it all out.

Also, one can easily imagine a system down the road called 
Irisregistration.com, and all that could take place in terms of providing 
info to people.

But, having said all that, it sure is great to be able to open the AIS 
compilations and get the info with speed and efficiency.
