John, wish I could answer your  question!  I'm not a scientist, just was 
married to one and I learned some thing thru association, but none thru 
osmosis!  But I;m sure you will get some answers from those who hybridize 
(which I;ve never done), but my guess woulod be that maybe the non-rebloomer 
genes took over??   Rosalie nr Baltimore, a sunny beautiful zone 7,  must go 
out and see if there are new reblooms  ryfigge@aol.com
