OT: Currier McEwen Memorial Service

It was held last Saturday and was perfectly lovely and was
music-filled per Currier's wish. The church was standing-room
only and many irisarians were in attendance. Region One was well
represented, of course, and particularly many members of the
Maine Iris Society. Our list member, Dennis Hager from Maryland,
was there as well. (He timed his Maine visit during Japanese
bloom perfectly to attend this service.)

Currier died during Siberian bloom season in Maine and this
Memorial Service was held during Japanese iris bloom. The church
held many arrangements featuring Currier's Japanese intros. All
the irises came from Sharon Whitney's garden and were lovingly
arranged by the Harpswell Garden Club.

Three of Currier's grandchildren and his son, Ewen, gave
personal remembrances which were touching and at times, funny.

I wish you all could have been there but you were in spirit.
