I apologize, Char, didn't mean to be obscure.  Mike Lowe maintains the
World of Iris website

that several have mentioned as a good place to look at photos of many
historic irises and is the official HIPS (Historic Iris Society)
website.  I think.  As the website says, "A site devoted to information
on older iris cultivars, sources for these iris, pictures, pedigrees,
bibliographies and much more.... >
