Ubiquitous Purple

Would that be the one flowering here now - an Episcopal purple with a
good white beard tinged with gold and a little white stitching? Not
as tall as it should be but its flowering way beyond the call of
duty. It withstood a vicious onslaught from the plant hating
builders plus an equally vehement attack when the mini decided to
make like a dragon and spewed black gunge. Would it have a name,
would it go beyond "Historic", an older cultivar or even beyond that
if there is? I have written to Iris Soc for that wonderful book but
to date no reply. When and If, I may find some of the answers to the
many FAQs without troubling the list so often.

Thanks everyone
