Cult:Short Bloom

Teresa Cobb sends:

OK, I do have a strange thing happening on one of my iris.  It seems
that at ground level, right between the fans (actually splitting out of
a leaf) is an iris bloom!  I don't think it will be able to bloom
entirely, as there is not enough room where it is.  Any comments on this
weird happening?  No other irises are blooming.
