  • Importance: Normal

We have quite a few Dykes winners here and have found several do
exceptionally well and some not so well:
Excellent: Victoria Falls
		Titan's Glory
		Stairway to Heaven
		Honky Tonk Blues
		Babbling Brook
		Jesse's Song
		New Moon

Good: Beverly Sills
		Mary Frances
		Ruffled Ballet

Fair/Poor:	Hello Darkness
		Before the Storm
		Dusky Challenger
Edith Wolford (blooms about every 3 years)

Since we haven't had "normal" weather in 4 of the last 5 years, I can't
really say that all these winners have had the benefit they might have had
elsewhere. However, the excellent ones have still done very well.

I grow all the above plus HELLO DARKNESS and LEMON POP. VANITY
has grown the best followed by TITAN'S GLORY. Haven't had STH long
enough to tell. DC conked out this season so I'm starting over (try, try
again), VF seems to expand, then dwindle, then expand in a cycle. Down
to one fan on HD as it has a tendency to only put out one or two increases
and then come close to blooming out. It will never make a clump if it
continues this pattern and may bloom out. LP simply has not down well.
Bloomed, but these were set when I got the rhizome. Currently is a very
marginal iris for survival. It has been moved to a location I hope it finds
more agreeable.
