Re: Unknown Philodendrons

Dear Ferenc:

I will download those pictures tomorrow at work.  Many of the species being sold by Ecuagenera are actually new species but they do not give any information about where they were collected, not even the country truthfully so they are rather difficult to deal with.  I think that we should try to see if these are new and perhaps the material will prove useful in helping to sort out existing material and perhaps your material could even prove to provide type material if we could ever figure out where it came from.

Dear Dr. Croat,

I'm sorry, my pics were a bit confusing. I featured two different species. One of them was bought as Ph. stenolobum, and the other one as Ph. linnaei. Now I have reorganised my flickr photostream, and I made two sets: Philodendron sp. 1.

and Philodendron sp. 2.

There is a description for both sets and a small description for each picture. I have bought two more Philodendron species and some Anthurium species. I will upload photos and show them on this mailing list when they establish themselves and begin to grow new leaves.

Regarding my name, my family name is Lengyel, and my given name is Ferenc. I must have made a mistake when I registered to Aroid-L. Sorry for the confusion. I don't know how to fix it as in the name box there is just Ferenc. Anyway, I have changed my E-mail address from my official, Hungarian address to a gmail based one.

Ferenc
