Folks,
Just an update for those on the fence about attending:
It looks like Dylan Hannon from the Huntington Botanical Gardens will be coming up to this meeting to give a talk on Colombia and some of the many Aroids therein. Colombia is right in the center of tropical Aroid diversity, and has been a difficult place to visit, so Dylan's talk will be an unique opportunity to learn more about this fascinating area. Dylan also mentioned he would be bringing a few plants from the collection at the Huntington to share.
I should also mention that in deference to Dylan's slides, we'll be meeting in the main part of the conference center down by the tropical house, not the glassed in area. Hope to see you all there!

Folks,
Just wanted to remind everyone that the West Coast Chapter of the International Aroid Society will be having a little get-together at the UC Botanical Garden at Berkeley this coming Sunday 4/11 starting around noon.
We'll be in the little glassed in section in the back of the conference center this time, and we'll be having a panel discussion on what it takes to grow Aroids in the SF Bay Area. Refreshments will be provided, and as usual some choice and rare Aroids will be made available for sale - proceeds going to the garden.
More information and photos of past meetings are available at
http://www.aroid.org/westcoast/
You do not have to be a member of the IAS to attend this meeting - all interested parties are welcome to join us. Be sure to mention that you are attending the Aroid meeting at the entry kiosk.
If you have any questions or wish to donate plants to sell, please contact Albert Huntington at b*@yahoo.com for more information. Hope to see you there!
