Many of us have heard of Pink Princess Philodendron. Does anyone know if there is a Black Cherry Philodendron? Much darker in color as a dark maroon color with much more shocking pink color. I have seen pics and makes me wonder if Red Emerald is a parent.
Years ago I grew many Philodendrons when I ran Horticulture Department greenhouses at Texas A&M. There are so very many, many new Philodendrons today. Pink Princess had just shown up on the horizon.
I apologize in advance if this is not in proper Aroid format for the group.
Thanks for any information you can provide.

Hi Christopher,
I am new to the society, & at present, only a hobby collector (expert goals
though!). I?m active in both areas because at this point I am just trying
to stick my hands in everywhere to get a feel for things & learn about the
society, the people, & where I can fit in. Even at my early stage I already
see what you are saying though! I think the exposure to what people share
on FB can sometimes be helpful to those of us working to absorb as much
information about these wonderful plants as we can as we try to attain some
expertise. Not being a fan of FB in general I am glad to see this forum
picking up because it keeps me off the social media where so much junk
hangs out & I am learning something from everything someone shares here. I
am grateful!
So all, I will third or fourth (wherever we are at!) the prompting to do
more gratuitous sharing?for folks like me, it is where we are starting & a
powerful supplementation to reading biology & botany textbooks to build our
knowledge foundation.
:) Jess
