Thank you, Peter. The leaves are indeed distinctly arched. The specimen in the photo is an older plant 10+ years old. It was "forced" to put out aerial roots at some point, which are thickened and have a durable epidermis. Are the plantlets a characteristic of this species? The original plant we got a cutting from was a beautiful specimen at MO-- in the greenhouse collections, not in Tom's area believe it or not!-- and I don't remember seeing any plantlets or many aerial roots.

I wonder if the specific epithet "fornicifolium" is in any way reflective of that phenomenon. How big are the adult plants? How big does a plant have to be to do this? It looks like you are growing the plant in a hanging basket: do you see anything like this in potted specimens?Happy days,ChristopherOn Sun, 23 Apr 2023 at 19:47, Hannon <o*@gmail.com> wrote:Hello all,Here is a strange phenomenon in Anthurium fornicifolium, where plantlets sprout directly from aerial roots. Is there any published info about aroids doing this, or experiences of other growers?Kind regards,Dylan Hannon
