I have never come across the word til now, but it would apparently mean
"without chlorophyll" chlorophyll being that plant agent responsible for
turning sunlight into energy for plant food production. That said,
wouldn't this property of achlorophyllity be true of nearly all other
flowers in the plant kingdom??? Perhaps another word was meant. One
meaning lack of color or pigment. Or the writer is saying that the flower
not having any energy producing chlorophyll in its structure will require
energy from its parent plant.
