I guess though that preserving pollen of one individual plant, freezing it and trying it next year on female flowers in case of a second flowering event of the same individual plant, might just work. My attempts were made in one and the same season, so I ran into the often encountered fact that the stigmas are no longer receptive when in the same inflorescence the males open. I called it outcrossing because in real life one plant cannot fertilize itself and there is no sigh of apomixis (so farâââ..). Lord P. Lord P.(seudohydrosme) declares the spec. as outcrossing. Pollination with frozen pollen seems to be possible. Interesting would be, if stored pollen can be uses for a selfing of the donor plant when it is blooming the next time. This would be useful in the case that only one plant is available. Aroiders, since I have contrary information about the fertility of Pseudohydrosme I want to ask wether the spec. is self fertile or not. One opinion is that it can be self pollinated with success, the other mentions that you need three genotypes to do a successfull pollination. Any experience? Happy growing, Bernhard.
