22nd Amorphophallus titanum in bloom at Rose Hills Conservatory at Huntington Botanical Gardens and Library

Friends -

Here in hot Southern California, we are seeing an Amorphophallus titanum starting to bloom at the Rose Hills Conservatory in the Huntington Botanical Gardens and Library in Pasadena - you can find a link to the livestream on this webpage:  Corpse Flower | The Huntington

I believe this is the 22nd time the Conservatory has seen an A. titanum bloom.  And lots of good conservation going on with respect to all sorts of tropical plants at the Conservatory - a big shout out to Dylan H. for his work on this.

I can't tell if the crowds are going to be smaller than they've been in the past, because it's not yet in full bloom.  Although I do like the marketing term for this: "Hot Corpse Flower Summer is Here."

Good growing all!

-Rosalind, in Los Angeles
