Re: Aroid-L Digest, Vol 226, Issue 3

I tried self pollinating mine 3 yrs back and the single seed I planted has come back again. I just tried it with this year's blooms on the same 15yo one so we'll see what happens. Seems fairly straightforward from seed as I am no expert!  Mine originally are from seeds obtained from another aroider ca 2010.

Hi Aroiders,

A friend who's not on the list is looking for a US source of
Synandrospadix vermitoxicus. The sources I knew, such as Plant Delights,
are all currently out of stock, and the ones that turn up on a quick
Google search all seem to be in Europe.

I've had a single plant for many years, but - as Wilbert warned me long
ago - mature plants do not seem to make offsets, and apparently it takes
two to tango in this species. Or I'm doing a spectacularly bad job of
self-pollinating it.

My friend has a lot of great plants, especially Arisaemas but other
aroids and non-aroids also, and would likely be up for a trade, too, if
anyone is interested.

Thanks,

Steve

Yeah Steve,
I have never figured out what's up with this plant after 45 years, I finally get multiple flowers and a larger and larger plant, but never an offset and never able to pollinate - either self, or between flowers?Michael

One just sold on eBay last night (I lost). There?s a seller called Leezmoney who sells some every year. Tell your friend to look in the fall after they die back for the winter.?Susan.?
