Interesting. Sure please do send me a photo of the new plant. Sounds like a Type I.
You might dig it up and clean it up after it goes dormant, and plant the off set in a new pot. If you repot it in fresh soil and fertilise, you might get it to bloom. If you want more offsets, underpot it. They seem to make lots more offsets when they feel crowded, but be careful it does not rot (which is a problem with underpotting).
