Re: More pics of the Amorphophallus


AH!!! I can see the leaf stem much better now. Those little papillae are almost diagnostic. That is Amorphophallus paeoniifolius. I have seen them wild in Thailand and Laos with leaves up to six feet tall.  It is a cool species and one that I have not kept in many years, since I moved to Kansas from California. Out there, I grew it in the ground in  my garden. That would not work here in Kansas! If you want to get rid of the pup, let me know.

By the way, according to Tom Croat, apparently you and I collected the same new Anthurium species in the Caribbean. I collected mine in St. Thomas. It is growing well and blooms regularly. I sent one inflorescence to Tom, but I think it was lost in the mail. I need to send him another.
