Welcome, Carla!!  you have certainly taken on some impressive jobs/challenges....the IAS newsletter AND tom croat!  good luck.  i know you will do a great job.
Dear IAS Members:
I would like to introduce myself to all of you. My name is Carla Kostelac and recently I took the position of Research Specialist working under Tom Croat at the Missouri Botanical Garden. Along with my other responsibilities, Tom has appointed me the new editor of your IAS Newsletter.
I?d like to tell you a little about myself: After graduating with a B.S. degree in Botany from Eastern Illinois University (Charleston, IL), I began working at the Garden in 1982 and have held several different positions in the Research Department. For the past seven years, I transcribed the scientific data from Tom?s collecting expedition fieldnotes and first became exposed to aroids and their very interesting descriptions!
With Tom?s help, I would like to get the first Newsletter of 2006 out in the coming month. If you would like make a contribution, please submit your information to me by 15 February 2006. You can email me at:  carla.kostelac@mobot.org. I look forward to learning more about these beautiful plants and your organization.
Thanks very much for your time and I hope to hear from you soon.
