I am writing a chapter of my book Legends of the Leaf on Monstera deliciosa and was wondering if anyone can enlighten me about commercial production of M. deliciosa - is it normal practice to spray plants with 6-Benzylaminopurine (BAP) to get leaves to fenestrate earlier than usual? I am aware of this 2014 paper: https://www.researchgate.net/publication/287236492_Biomass_accumulation_and_leaf_shape_can_be_modulated_by_an_exogenous_spray_of_6-benzylaminopurine_in_the_ornamental_foliage_plant_Monstera_deliciosa_Liebm
But I can't find any sources showing this practice is actually being used by producers - although I have seen some relatively small plants for sale that have fenestration.
Thanks!
