Re: Amorphophallus titanum pollen

I keep reading about more and more titanum coming into bloom, all in collections. Maybe it's time to establish a studbook on this species, as is done for animals in captive breeding programs. After all, with the world's tropical forests under increasing pressure, forest specialist plants will come under increasing risk of extinction in the wild. If we had a studbook, pollen could be shared in a more systematic way, instead of shot-in-the-dark inquiries on a listserv.
