[Aroid-l] Flower induction in Amorphophallus titanum?

Aroiders,

a friend heard from his friend:
"I did read that a university group in Germany produced an
inflorescence from seed to flower in a year, and am not sure how they
accomplished that feat!"
The subject was A.titanum......

Just an urban ledgend or has someone of the group some more information
about this?
