My personal find with difficult plants is get seedlings if you can. For whatever number of reasons they seem to adapt better in my experience.

Here are 2 youngins I currently have in the hospital because I managed to give them root rot. You can see in the 2nd photo that in the fluval stratum that one is successfully putting out new healthy roots which makes me so happy. I had to remove all roots completely from both. The one on the right I’m not seeing any roots yet but that doesn’t mean they aren’t there. So fingers crossed they both develop healthy root systems so we can start getting some healthy leaves!

I feel like if I do much as touch a waroq or look at it wrong the leaves get damaged 😂
