Re: "white" konjac flower?

I have seen it happen to several other species of Amorphophallus and related tuber genera in the Araceae family.  In fact I have observed one coloring up when brought into the green house that hasn’t opened yet.

Subject: [Aroid-l] "white" konjac flower?

Aroiders,

will a konjac flower developing in dark room (windowless cellar) lack anthocyanin and apear more or less "white"?

A member of our German forum just posted picture of such flower....

http://www.amorphophallus-forum.de/amorphophallus-konjac-mit-wei%C3%9Fer-bl%C3%BCte-was-bin-ich/amorphophallus-f26/t5890-f17/

I asked if the plant was gown in cellar - that was confirmed...

Did anyone else make this observation?

Happy growing, Bernhard.
