Re: John Banta

Excellent idea. Pleas put the photo of him on the elephant on the cover. That photo really tickled him.

I’ve lost my dear friend, John Banta.  We’ve all lost our dear friend, John Banta.  He was such a unique individual that upon meeting him, you were immediately a close friend with this brilliant, humble genius.

I'm sending this message out on both our  Facebook group and here on Aroid-L.

For the June edition of our newsletter, I want to publish a photo collection of John throughout the years.  There won’t be room for all the photos, but for lots and I’ll be able to expand the printed version of our newsletter with even more for the digital version.  Please be selective  but submit photos plus captions and ideally the date and location.

I can edit the photos to crop them as needed; I can brighten faces darkened because of light backgrounds.

Our product won’t be submitted to the printers until late May, so you’ve got plenty of time to sort through your photo archives.  If you’re going to scan pre-digital-era prints or slides, please scan them at the highest resolution possible.  If you can’t do that, please mail the prints to me and I’ll return them with a link to the scanned and processed result.
