Re: Schismatoglottis heterodoxa S.Y.Wong

Cool adaptation of the plantlets forming on the damaged leaves. Do any other species exhibit this behavior?

Anyone know if this species is in cultivation in North America at this time? This would make an interesting addition to our teaching collection with this adaptation. Thanks..

Subject: [Aroid-l] Schismatoglottis heterodoxa S.Y.Wong

Schismatoglottis heterodoxa S.Y.Wong is an interesting rheophytic species of
the otherwise mainly colonial-terrestrial Calyptrata Group. A curiosity of
S. heterodoxa is the ability of the damaged leaf blades to develop
plantlets.
