Fascinating!
Great questions. I hope that Wilbert has come back on the list and can share some thoughts.
Cheers,
Christopher

my Amorphophallus lewallei x eichleri (Kiehlmann) B flowered recently.
https://www.amorphophallus-network.org/hybrids/lewallei-x-eichleri/ - Hybrid B at the very end of that page.
I almost overlooked it - first picture...
The flower opened 3 days after picture 2; about noon there was only a faint umami-like scent; in the evening it the smell had changed to something like cowshed where silage ist fed.
I tired to pollinate it with pollen of my aff beccarii (asked for an id about 3 weeks ago; unfortunately no certain id till now...).
Furthermore I tried to collect pollen, but there was almost no pollen shed - see last picture
I know about 3 way Hybrids in Amophophallus; so there can be viable pollen from primary Hybrids

Are there Amorphophallus species hybrids known that do not shed pollen?
If there is pollen shed by a primary Hybrid; what about the viability?
Looking forward to any comment
Bernhard. (http://www.amorphophallus-forum.de)
BTW, both are African species; lewallei (Burundi) and eichleri (Zaire); so to pollinate the hybrid with pollen from an Indonesian spec (beccarii from Sumatra) might not work - comments?
