Greetings one and all,
Many years ago, I grew Sauromatum horsefieldi (from Thailand) in California. It grew very well for me, but died when I moved to Kansas.
Here is an image of the leaf:

I bought a new plant from Tony Avent (plant Delights) back in November, and it has come up now. This plant is from a northern China population, so is supposed to be more cold hardy, than the plants I had originally collected in Thailand way back when.
This leaf is quite a bit different:

It is very healthy and is pushing up a bloom right now as well. But, this ecotype has more leaflets, the leaflets are much narrower and more elongate, and the leaf seems to be larger than the ones I had from Thailand.
Any one else have this plant? Are you seeing the same thing? a decade or more ago, I gave away many offsets of the Thailand form. Anyone still have them? It would be interesting to do a direct comparison of the inflorescence and flowers as well.
Happy days,
Christopher
