Various parts of Canada make do for USA. even brighton beach memories was somewhere in Vancouver, i think. i grew UP in brighton beach. Brooklyn Heights is often located in some charming Canadian village.

and yes, the viper is played by a PYTHON, usually a reticulated python who gets lots of work i understand.
